Yesterday, I went for a walk with my flickr friend mfdudu. We walked from my place to Place de la Concorde and walked by Pâtissier Le Nôtre on Champs-Elysées where I spotted this rusty Cupid. Not the first time I photographed him, but certainly the first time his rusty state was so blatant against the blue sky

At least he still has his bow-string, often one of the first things to go.
Our Greek analogue, Eros in Piccadilly Circus, was refurbished some years ago. I must go and see how he’s faring in the rust stakes
Piccadilly Eros is still pretty new-looking.
This Cupid has been rusty for eons
The blue of the sky is made more piercing by the rusty cupid.
Definitely!
I agree, Kenju!
It’s a shame that such a great statue is allowed to rust away. I hope the city remedies that.
