On Pont Saint-Louis, last Saturday afternoon, all sorts of street performers, including masseuses (?). Just wondering if they can be called street performers.
Well, this young man who was also selling his CDs had brought his piano along and I thought he was rather good –and good-looking!
That is really cool Claude!
That’s the first time have ever seen or even heard of a ‘street performer’ hauling around a piano. At least a full-size upright.
He certainly knew how to play. As far as his looks – well, you just need to behave yourself.
Alan, I always behave
I think this is the pianist who plays with the current “Sidney Bechet” trio! check my Flickr collection Paris, the Montmartre set, and I think you will see him WITH his piano – they were playing at the metro des Abbesses when I was there. I liked all those guys’ work, they were very good! oh yes and he IS very cute. too young for me. I had my eye on the clarinetist…
In this occasion, he was on his own.
How on earth could a street musician move a piano around? They aren’t light weight and to keep it in tune would be a real challenge.
I hope Sarah is right and he is part of a group. That would explain it all. And, absolutely, he is good and very good looking. Oh to be 20 again.
Not the first time I’ve seen street piano players in Paris. Like this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/bip/10425789/
