Isn’t Paris confusing?

Contrary to what you might think, on the right is the Left Bank, and and  on the left, the Right Bank.

And please don't try to confuse me mentioning North, South, East and West. We, Parisians, use left, right, straight ahead or turn around for directions.

I do too! I can’t understand why someone would give directions in terms of north, south, etc. If I need directions, I don’t know where I am and clearly I am not going to know where north is. Even in a familiar place I don’t think like that.

Our street addresses in my city have NE, NW, SE, SW. Once I figured that out it was a cinch. However, I grew up in Toledo (OH) and, like Paris, is sprawled on both sides of a river so I do understand what you’re saying. I love the photos — you are such an artist!!!!

We have North, East, and South Parkway, but no West Parkway…..oh, well. Go figure.

I always get confused about which is the left or right bank. If someone would tell me which one the Eiffel Tower is located on I might get it straight.

The Eiffel Tower is on the Left Bank, Darlene. Everyone gets confused, so don’t worry ;)
